The Worst Robot Maker

The Worst Robot Maker
I am learning to: Write about what happens before and after a event.

It was the year 3000 and Katy was still looking for a job!
She's been looking for a job for 3 years now
! Katy had long brown hair and dark blue eyes that matched
the sky at night, she was kind and gentle. Katy loves animals
and she loves making robots and lots of creative things a bit
like arts and crafts. Katy was desperate for a job in the robot factory. As Katy
got ready to go out all she could think about
was the robot factory. “I really, really want to get this job.” she said as she
grabbed her bag. Katy walked down the path to the bus stop, she could
see
lots of flyers for the robot factory. Screech! Went a sound, it was the
bus! Katy jumped on and….. “Next stop the city.” shouted the old man
who was driving the bus. Screech! The bus came to a stop and Katy
jumped out of the bus and got a taxi to take her to the robot factory.
“That will be $20 please.” said the young lady who was driving the taxi.
“Here is $20 for the ride, thank you.” saidKaty. When Katy got to the
factory she started knocking on the door. BANG BANG BANG! Creek!
Someone opened the door.  “Hello, I’m Alice, and I own
the robot factory, how can I help you?” puffed Alice as she pushed
open the
door. “Oh, thank you I was actually looking for a job, do you have any
openings at all?” asked Katy in a shy voice. “We have one opening,
do you have any experience?” said Alice.
“Well I was a mechanic for a bit, is that enough experience?”
asked Katy. “You can have a trial day today.” said Alice.Today was Katy’s
trial. Katy went to the robot factory and she entered a big room with all
the bits and pieces to
make a robot. She scooped lots of things up and marched to her
desk then
started putting everything together for the robot. “I’m just going to have
a drink of water.” she said while she dragged herself over to her water
bottle.  Drip, Drip, Drip. “Oh no not here, not now, not on the robot!”
cried Katy. Her drink
bottle was leaking on the robot! Katy saw her drink bottle leaking onto the
robot. “Who’s shouting in here? Everybody knows I like people working
quietly.” Alice said. “Excuse me Alice, can I talk to you in your office?”
“Of course Katy, meet me in my office,  you have some explaining to do.”
said
Alice as her smile turned into a frown.Meanwhile they were talking
about how Katy spilled water on the robot. Her boss was actually
quite mad at her. But
the good news was Katy isn’t fired and she got to make a new robot.
“What a waste of my time, I spent all my time making that robot!” cried Katy
as she walked to the bus stop, to go home. Screech!! The bus pulled up
against the road as katy covered her ears and her nose to block the fumes
going into her body.“Home sweet home.” said Katy as she threw herself like
a javelin onto her bed. “I’m so glad my boss isn’t angry at me for
spilling water on the robot.” chuckled Katy.
The next day Katy went to work and even more bad things happened that
you don’t want to know what happened. Plus there was bad and good news.
The good news was Katy does not have to work too hard, and the bad news
was that Katy did not get the job!!  Katy was quite upset but then she realised
that she could fix robots instead of making them, so she was not that upset
anymore. She did fix things in her last job anyway. So Katy got a job fixing
robots instead of making robots.

My Pepeha

During this term Room 6 has been learning how to write a Pepeha. A Pepeha is a Maori introduction that establishes your identity and heritage. We learned how to say our Pepeha and then we said it in front of the class and then we used screencastify to video it.This is my Pepeha.

Rosa Parks an Inspirational Hero

During reading we have been researching people who have faced challenges and have stood up for what they believed in. They have either been a voice for those that don’t have one or are a person who never gave up when facing challenges.

My person is Rosa Parks

Cyber Safety

Room 6 have been learning about Cyber safety. We have learnt a lot about being a digital citizen. Here are three key rules that I think are important.
1. Be careful of what you post on the internet. All info and images leave a digital footprint.
2. Never share yo personal info such as your full name, age, address and passwords with anyone, even those who say they know you.

3. Be nice! No one likes a digital bully. Be respectful and be a great digital citizen.

If you are ever unsure check with a ADULT!
